In our interview series, TeamTellu, we offer a glimpse into the people behind the technology—what drives them, where they come from, and what they’re passionate about in the field of welfare technology.
Next up is James Jacobs, our international representative with his sights set on the global stage. As Head of Business and Partner Development, James works to scale Tellu’s solutions and make them available in new markets.
James is originally from England but has spent much of his career at Scandinavian companies. Today, he lives in Norway with his wife and children, and the family shares a common interest in traveling and exploring new places—which fits well with a job that often involves spending a lot of time on the road. For the past eight years, he has worked in health and welfare technology—a field he truly thrives in.
When asked what motivates him in his role, he says it’s first and foremost about creating something that actually makes a difference:
“Working to bring new technological solutions to market, while seeing the value they create for people, is very rewarding.”

For James, the motivation lies in contributing to solutions that make a difference in people’s daily lives:
“When we know that our solutions actually make a difference for the people we care about—family, grandparents, and the local community—it influences what we develop, how we collaborate with our partners, and what we choose to prioritize.”
When it comes to current trends in assistive technology, he points to the rapid pace of change:
“Technology that was previously considered irrelevant or unthinkable is now in high demand and taking center stage.”
He also highlights how exciting it is to work in an international market:
“Tellu is at the very forefront of international developments. Working closely with large, established players in care tech—who are adopting and rolling out our solutions—is incredibly exciting. I really thrive in a market that’s evolving so quickly!”
